Silverstein Properties and Parx Casino Reveal The Avenir at 514 Eleventh Avenue in Midtown, Manhattan

A new set of renderings has been revealed for The Avenir, Silverstein Properties and Parx Casino’s bid for a 1.8-million-square-foot hotel, gaming, entertainment, and residential complex at 514 Eleventh Avenue in Midtown, Manhattan. Designed by Steelman Partners and CetraRuddy, the 46-story two-tower complex will yield 1,000 guests rooms, more than 100 affordable housing units reserved for New Yorkers, 12 full-service restaurants, an elevated 1,000-seat performance hall, and an eight-story, 600,000-square-foot podium. The project aims to create 4,000 union construction jobs, over 5,500 permanent union jobs, and billions of dollars in economic development for the state and city. The property, owned by Silverstein since 1984 and alternatively addressed as 520 West 41st Street, spans a full block between West 40th and West 41st Streets and Eleventh and Galvin Avenues, just north of the Jacob K. Javits Center. The plot has sat vacant for the last eight years, and the development team expects the project to be shovel ready upon approval.

Façade Installation Begins on 250 East 83rd Street on Manhattan’s Upper East Side

Façade installation is underway on 250 East 83rd Street, a 31-story residential building in the Yorkville section of Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Designed by SLCE Architects and developed by The Torkian Group, the 370-foot-tall structure will yield 128 residential units with interiors by Lemay_id, as well as ground-floor retail space. Cauldwell Wingate Company is the general contractor for the property, which is located at the corner of Second Avenue and East 83rd Street.

1299 Third Avenue Climbs Above Street Level on Manhattan’s Upper East Side

Construction is rising on 1299 Third Avenue, a 33-story residential tower on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Designed by SLCE Architects and developed by Elad Group, which purchased the plot for $61 million in April 2022, the 420-foot-tall structure will yield 47 condominium units. Press Builders is the general contractor for the property, which is located between East 74th and East 75th Streets.

262 Fifth Avenue Continues Rapid Ascent in NoMad, Manhattan

Construction is continuing to rise on 262 Fifth Avenue, a 56-story residential skyscraper in NoMad, Manhattan. Designed by Meganom with SLCE Architects as the executive architect and developed by Boris Kuzinez of Five Points Development under the Five Points 262 Project LLC, the 860-foot-tall structure will yield 26 condominium units averaging 3,200 square feet apiece with at least one becoming a quadruplex. GEA Consulting Engineers is the MEP engineer and CM & Associates Construction Management is the general contractor for the project, which located on a 5,000-square foot property on the southwest corner of Fifth Avenue and West 29th Street.
