New Rendering for Pacific Park’s Full Build-Out Depicts Neighborhood’s Tallest Skyscraper

Yesterday, major news was announced regarding Mary Anne Gilmartin’s departure from Forest City Ratner, as she joined forces with Robert Lapidus and David Levinson to form L&L MAG, a new venture that will draw on the talents of all three executives and a host of other talent. The firm also launched its new website, which features a fresh rendering of the full build-out of the Pacific Park mega-project, surrounding Barclay’s Center in Downtown Brooklyn, which has undergone substantive changes to its final appearance, including the addition of what could become one of the neighborhood’s tallest towers.

Design Confirmed for 92-100 Vandam Street, Hudson Square

Back in January of 2015, YIMBY first reported on a proposal for a new development at 92-100 Vandam Street, in the “Hudson Square” neighborhood to the north of the Holland Tunnel. Since then, several major projects have begun construction in the vicinity, including 555-565 Broome Street. Now, YIMBY has confirmation that the original suspected design for 92-100 Vandam is indeed accurate, and is now moving forward through the planning process.

Renderings Revealed For ULURP Proposal For 550 Washington Street Redevelopment, Hudson Square

Back in October, YIMBY brought you schematics of the proposed redevelopment options of 550 Washington Street, in Hudson Square, and now The Villager has renderings of the ULURP plans, which would include 1,596 residential units; 255,000 square feet of retail; and a 353-key hotel. The residential units would be spread across 1,334,100 square feet of space, and 500 of the units will go towards affordable and supportive housing. The project would also include elevated park space. COOKFOX Architects is behind the design. Westbrook Partners and Atlas Capital Group are developing.

Pacific Park’s 19-Story, 298-Unit Mixed-Use Building Rises At 535 Carlton Avenue, Prospect Heights

Over a year ago, YIMBY reported on applications for a 19-story, 298-unit residential building at 535 Carlton Avenue, in Prospect Heights. The project is one of 15 buildings in the Pacific Park mega development being constructed by Forest City Ratner and Greenland Group. Crain’s reported on the site’s groundbreaking last December, and now the building is five stories above street level, per photos by Tectonic. Ground-floor retail space will measure 8,324 square feet and the building’s rental units will average 925 square feet apiece. COOKFOX Architects is designing, and completion is expected in 2017.


855 6th Avenue

Nike Leases Office Space at Durst’s 855 6th Avenue, in Midtown

Crain’s Business reports Nike has leased 147,000 square feet of office space at the Durst Organization’s 42-story, 570,000 square-foot mixed-use building at 855 6th Avenue, in Midtown South. The third through sixth floors will by occupied by Nike, and their lease will include the 15,000 square-foot outdoor deck. The building was revealed by YIMBY in 2014, and completion is expected in early 2016.
