Calyer Place Waterfront Complex Continues to Rise Over Greenpoint, Brooklyn

Construction is continuing to rise on Calyer Place, a nearly 1-million-square-foot residential development on the GreenpointBrooklyn waterfront. Designed by Cooper Robertson & Partners with SLCE Architects as the architect of record, and developed by M&H Realty LLC, the project includes a pair of 40-story towers along with 32- and 22-story siblings, and will yield around 700,000 square feet of residential space with 700 apartments, as well as 10,000 square feet of commercial space, 7,160 square feet for unspecified community facility use, and over 600 parking spaces. The land was once home to the historic Greenpoint Terminal Market, which suffered a ten-alarm fire and was demolished in 2017 before site preparations and construction began.

Renderings Revealed & Permits Approved for 27-41 West Street aka Calyer Place, Greenpoint, Brooklyn

In 2006, there was a 10-alarm fire that destroyed the historic waterside Greenpoint Terminal Market. A few small buildings remained onsite before they were finally demolished in 2017. Now,  the site is cleared for development and Greenpoint is about to yield yet another major addition to New York City’s skyline, named Calyer Place, after the neighborhood street. Renderings have been released, revealing a scenic landscaped public esplanade overlooking the Manhattan skyline, along with five mixed-use structures populating the site. M&H Realty LLC is responsible for the development.

Studio Museum In Harlem Building New 70,000 Square-Foot Building At 144 West 125th Street

The Studio Museum at 144 West 125th Street in Harlem is planning to build a new 70,000 square-foot museum, including 10,000 square feet for galleries. According to The New York Times, the existing five-story, 60,000 square-foot structure would be demolished for a ground-up building designed by the UK-based David Adjaye; Cooper, Robertson & Partners is the executive architect. Plans will be submitted this Summer, and construction is expected to start in 2017 for a 2019 completion.
