Earlier this month, we covered permits filed for the Faith Chapel Baptist Church at 552 Prospect Place, Crown Heights, Brooklyn. Today, thanks to a YIMBY reader’s tip, we can reveal renderings for the site’s soon-to-be replacement. As one might expect for such a unique building, a portion of the extant structure will be preserved, but not as much as one might expect. Stephan Tchorbajian of Hye Rise Consulting is listed as responsible for the development.

New renderings are out for Bedford Union Armory’s redevelopment in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. BFC Partners and the nonprofit NYC Economic Development Corporation, whose mission is to spur economic growth in the city, will be developing the project jointly. The site is three blocks from the 2, 3, 4, and 5 subway trains at the Franklin Avenue station. Permits filed four months ago for a fifteen-story building are still pending approval.

Construction Making Headway at 805 Washington Avenue, Crown Heights, Brooklyn

Concrete has reached the third floor at 805 Washington Heights, a residential project rising in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. The building is now expected to become a nine-story residential, part of a revision to the permits made in April of this year. This comes after the permits reflected downsizing to six stories when we reported on it in October. Levi Balkany of Happy Living Development is responsible for the applications.

Permits Filed for the Bedford Union Armory’s 15-Story Residential Addition, Crown Heights, Brooklyn

Permits have been filed for a 15-story residential building at 1579 Bedford Avenue, also known as the Bedford Union Armory, in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. The site is three blocks away from the Franklin Avenue subway station, serviced by the 2, 3, 4 and 5 trains. Prospect Park is located just five blocks away. The development will create housing and a recreational center made affordable for community residents. Also included will be low-cost space for local non-profits, and a new medical facility for uninsured citizens of the city. The NYC Economic Development Corporation is behind the applications.
