Located at 1230 Metcalf Avenue, available homes are reserved for individuals and households earning between 30 percent and 90 percent Area Median Income (AMI), as well as 25 units for the formerly homeless.

55 Suffolk Street Reaches Pinnacle Over Manhattan’s Lower East Side

Construction has topped out on 55 Suffolk Street, a 30-story residential building on Manhattan’s Lower East Side. Designed by Dattner Architects and developed by Gotham Organization, the 310-foot-tall structure is the taller in the two-building Broome Street Development complex along with the 16-story The Norfolk Senior Housing Building at 64 Norfolk Street to the west. Both buildings will collectively span 387,223 square feet and yield a total of 488 rental units, of which 43 percent will be dedicated to permanently affordable housing. Monadnock Construction, Inc. is the general contractor for the two buildings, which are being built between Suffolk and Norfolk Streets.

Nevins Street Apartments Nears Completion at 50 Nevins Street in Downtown Brooklyn

Construction is finishing up on The Nevins Street Apartments, a residential building at 50 Nevins Street in Downtown Brooklyn. Designed by Dattner Architects and developed by Institute for Community Living (ICL), the project involved the gut renovation of a 95-year-old eight-story building and the construction of a ten-story volume along Schermerhorn Street that extends over the northeast corner of the original structure’s roof. The 114,000-square-foot property will yield 129 affordable apartments as well as mental health support services for low-income residents. Mega Contracting Group LLC is the general contractor and King Contracting Group built the masonry walls for the addition, which is located at the corner of Nevins and Schermerhorn Streets.

Designed by Dattner Architects, the structure yields 277 residences, a neighborhood supermarket, a community health center, a cultural center, and a 30,000-square-foot educational facility for CUNY’s Hostos Community College. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 248 units for residents at 30 to 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $15,360 to $192,400.
