Crown Panel Installation Begins at 111 West 57th Street in Midtown

SHoP Architects‘ 111 West 57th Street recently reached another milestone as work has commenced on the installation of the transparent paneling on the supertall’s steel crown. This is the final major external component of the world’s most slender skyscraper, which is developed by JDS DevelopmentProperty Markets Group, and Spruce Capital Partners. The 1,428-foot-tall tower will contain 46 condominiums designed by Studio Sofield and marketed by Douglas Elliman.

The terracotta and bronze façade has reached the bottom of the steel crown of SHoP Architects‘ 111 West 57th Street, the second-tallest project in YIMBY’s construction countdown. Developed by JDS DevelopmentProperty Markets Group, and Spruce Capital Partners, the 1,428-foot-tall residential skyscraper features a height-to-width ratio of 24:1, making it the most slender building in the world. A total of 46 condominiums will be created and marketed by Douglas EllimanStudio Sofield is the interior designer.

Completion Expected Next Year for 125 Greenwich Street, in Financial District

Work is almost entirely complete on the reflective curtain wall of 125 Greenwich Street, number 14 in our countdown of the tallest projects under construction in New York City. The only sections awaiting façade work are the podium and the portion where the exterior hoist is still mounted. Designed by Rafael Vinoly and developed by Bizzi & Partners and Vector Group, the slender 88-story residential skyscraper stands 912 feet tall over the Financial District. The 273 residential units are being marketed by Douglas Elliman, while the interiors are designed by March & White. Plaza Construction is the general contractor for the development.

One Seaport’s Glass Curtain Steadily Rising in the Financial District

The 29th building in YIMBY’s construction countdown is One Seaport, aka 161 Maiden Lane. The reflective glass envelope is steadily climbing up the topped-out Financial District skyscraper. The 200,000-square-foot, 60-story, reinforced concrete tower is designed by Hill West Architects and being developed by Fortis Property Group LLC. Ray Builders is the current contractor for the project, while Groves & Co is serving as the interior designer. Douglas Elliman Development Marketing is handling sales of the units.
