The Edison Gramercy’s Façade Takes Shape at 250 East 21st Street in Gramercy, Manhattan

Exterior work is progressing on The Edison Gramercy, a 13-story residential building at 250 East 21st Street in Gramercy, Manhattan. Designed by Isaac & Stern Architects and developed by Urban Development Partners and SD Second Avenue Property, the structure will yield 54 boutique homes that range from one to four-bedroom layouts and start at approximately $1,200,000 to over $6 million. Interiors are being designed by Paris Forino and sales and marketing are led by Douglas Elliman Development Marketing‘s Eklund Gomes Team. Ross Associates is the general contractor for the property, which is located at the corner of East 21st Street and Second Avenue.

FÖRENA’s Façade Nears Completion at 540 Sixth Avenue in Chelsea, Manhattan

Exterior work is wrapping up on FÖRENA, a 12-story residential building at 540 Sixth Avenue in Chelsea. Designed by Morris Adjmi Architects and developed by Landsea Homes and DNA Development, the 80,000-square-foot structure will yield 50 units in one- to three-bedroom layouts marketed by Fredrik Eklund and John Gomes of The Eklund Gomes Team and The Tuinstra Davis Team at Douglas Elliman, with pricing starting at $1.575 million. Ryder Construction is the general contractor for the property, which is located at the corner of West 14th Street and Sixth Avenue.

Brooklyn Tower’s Construction Crane Comes Down at 9 DeKalb Avenue in Downtown Brooklyn

The construction crane is almost fully disassembled from The Brooklyn Tower as façade installation is closing in on completion on the 1,066-foot residential supertall at 9 DeKalb Avenue in Downtown Brooklyn. Designed by SHoP Architects and developed by JDS Development, the 93-story tower currently stands as the tallest structure in the outer boroughs and is going to have 150 condominium units, 280 market-rate rentals, 120 affordable rental units, and 100,000-square-foot retail podium that would incorporate the landmarked Dime Savings Bank of Brooklyn. The first set of homes for purchase will start over 500 feet above street level. Douglas Elliman is serving as the exclusive marketing, sales, and leasing agent for the property, which is bound by Flatbush Avenue Extension to the northeast, Fleet Street to the northwest, and DeKalb Avenue to the south.

Waldorf Astoria Renovation and Partial Residential Conversion Progresses in Midtown East, Manhattan

Work continues to progress on the renovation and partial residential conversion of the Waldorf Astoria at 305 Park Avenue in Midtown East. Developed by Andrew Miller of Dajia US, the project is dubbed “The Towers of the Waldorf Astoria” and will yield 375 residences designed by Skidmore Owings & Merrill and Jean-Louis Deniot that range from studios to sprawling penthouses, as well as an extensive amenity offering. Douglas Elliman Development Marketing is handling sales and marketing of the units, Suffolk Construction Corporation is the general contractor, Pierre-Yves Rochon is in charge of the revamped hotel interiors, and Simon de Pury is the residential art curator for the 625-foot-tall Art Deco landmark, which occupies a full city block bound by Park Avenue to the west, East 49th Street to the south, East 50th Street to the north, and Lexington Avenue to the east.

Façade installation is approaching the 1,066-foot pinnacle of the The Brooklyn Tower, a 93-story residential supertall skyscraper at 9 DeKalb Avenue in Downtown Brooklyn and the tallest structure in the outer boroughs. Designed by SHoP Architects and developed by JDS Development, the building will yield 550 residences, with 150 for purchase, as well as a 100,000-square-foot retail podium bound by Flatbush Avenue Extension to the northeast, Fleet Street to the northwest, and DeKalb Avenue to the south. This public portion of The Brooklyn Tower will utilize the landmarked Dime Savings Bank of Brooklyn, which is being renovated. Douglas Elliman is serving as the exclusive marketing, sales, and leasing agent for the property. YIMBY last reported that 30 percent of rentals are designated as affordable housing units, and residences for purchase start over 500 feet above street level.

YIMBY Scopes Panoramic Views From Olympia at 30 Front Street in DUMBO, Brooklyn

YIMBY went to check out the views from Olympia, a 33-story residential building at 30 Front Street in DUMBO, Brooklyn. Designed by Hill West Architects and developed by Fortis Property Group, the 401-foot-tall sail-shaped tower will yield 76 condominiums designed by Workstead. The units will come in one- to five-plus-bedroom layouts with sales and marketing led by Fredrik Eklund and John Gomes of the Eklund Gomes Team at Douglas Elliman and Karen Heyman at Sotheby’s. Urban Atelier Group is managing the ongoing construction, Manhattan Concrete created the superstructure, and King Contacting Group is in charge of the CMU work, exterior insulation finish systems, and roofing for the project, which is bound by Front Street to the north, Washington Street to the east, and York Street to the south.

Maverick Wraps Up Construction at 215 West 28th Street in Chelsea, Manhattan

Designed by DXA Studio and developed by HAP Investments, the 250-foot-tall reinforced concrete structures yield a combined 162,834 square feet and 87 condominium units, as well as 20,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space. Douglas Elliman Development Marketing and Fredrik Eklund’s and John Gomes’ Eklund | Gomes team are responsible for sales and marketing for the residences, with Alex Lundqvist as the sales director in charge. The property is located between Seventh and Eighth Avenues across from the Fashion Institute of Technology campus, in a stretch of the street that has seen a tremendous amount of vertical transformation with new offices and homes being built in the vicinity.

SHoP Architects’ 111 West 57th Street Nears Completion in Midtown, Manhattan

Construction is coming to a close on 111 West 57th Street, a 1,428-foot supertall residential skyscraper in Midtown, Manhattan and number three on YIMBY’s December countdown of the tallest buildings being built in New York City. Designed by SHoP Architects and developed by JDS Development, Property Markets Group, and Spruce Capital Partners, 111 West 57th Street will yield just 60 condominiums with interiors designed by Studio Sofield and marketed by Douglas Elliman Development Marketing. The project is located on Billionaires’ Row between Sixth and Seventh Avenues, and is almost perfectly aligned with the centerline of Central Park.
