Kushner Companies and RFR Realty are teaming up with Ian Schrager to develop a Public Hotel at the six-building Dumbo Heights redevelopment, in Dumbo, according to the New York Post. At 90 Sands Street, the 30-story, 508-room Jehovah’s Witness residential hotel could to be transformed into a nearly 600-key hotel, with up to 100,000 square feet of amenity and meeting space.

When he applied to legalize the building’s apartments, the city denied his request, and a week later, a mysterious four-alarm fire raged through brick factory. Now, after years of sitting vacant and boarded up, the five-story building between Bridge and Gold Streets may become office space.

YIMBY brought you news early last year of a the 12-story, 42-condo-unit mixed-use building planned for 1 John Street, in Dumbo, and now the project is now rising. Alloy Development and Monadnock Development are developing the building, which is three or four stories up, according to Curbed. An in-house team at Alloy is designing, and completion is expected by 2016.
