Renovation Work Progresses at 105 Washington Street in Financial District, Manhattan

Renovation work is progressing on 105 Washington Street, a six-story former residential building in Manhattan’s Financial District that is being converted to a homeless shelter under the city’s Safe Haven program. Designed by EQ Architecture & Design and developed by The Center for Urban Community Services (CUCS), the 97-year-old structure spans 22,088 square feet and will yield 84 housing units. Penta Restoration Corp. is the general contractor for the property, which is located between Carlisle and Rector Streets.

The affordable housing lottery has launched for 972 Washington Avenue, a 12-story building in Morrisania, The Bronx. The 83,811-square-foot development was designed by EQ Architecture And Design, and yields 107 supportive housing units. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 41 units for residents at 60 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $31,406 to $57,300.

Permits Filed for 314 West 127th Street, Harlem

Permits have been filed for a 12-story building at 314 West 127th Street, in Harlem, Manhattan. The Harlem-based Center for Urban Community Services is responsible for the development. The company focuses on providing services to homeless clients, as well as housing development, training, and research. Here, they will partner with the Department of Homeless Services to create a center for housing with support for serious health and mental health issues, and criminal justice assistance. By their own metrics, they have reached more than 35,000 people per year.
