34-Story, 244-Unit Residential Building Filed At 639 West 59th Street, Riverside Center

Extell Development and Carlyle Group have filed applications for another Riverside Center building, this time at 639 West 59th Street, in Lincoln Square. The building will stand 34 stories or 391 feet in height, and will have 244 residential units. Retail space will span 1,845 square feet on the ground floor within the larger 330,152 square-foot building, and amenity space will be located on the ground floor and cellar. Goldstein Hill & West Architects is the architect of record.

Full renderings have surfaced for Extell’s 22-story, 114-unit development currently under construction at 70 Charlton Street, in Hudson Square. The project includes two buildings conjoined at the base, with street frontage on Charlton and Vandam streets; together, they will have 92 condos and 22 affordable rental units, according to The New York Times.

But luckily some new supporting documents have been filed with the city, revealing what appear to be the actual height numbers for the tower’s parapet and roof, confirming it will become the country’s tallest building.

Excavation Commences At 500 East 14th Street, Extell’s 7-Story Mixed-Use Project, East Village

Excavation and drilling have commenced at Extell Development’s site spanning 500-524 East 14th Street (excluding No. 520), in the East Village, EV Grieve reports. A number of single-story retail structures were demolished to make-way for the two-building, seven-story mixed-use development, which will eventually have 150 residential units and 56,610 square feet of retail. Signage reveals an expected completion date of January 2017.
