David Adjaye’s 130 William Street Sees Major Design Update, Financial District

YIMBY has covered 130 William Street extensively, from back when preliminary permits were first filed in 2015, to the recent start of foundation work. Now, the building has seen another design shift, with new renderings by architect David Adjaye revealing a substantial transformation to the exterior as compared to the most recent images. The 61-story tower is being developed by Lightstone, and is just about ready to start rising above ground level.

New Renderings for Supertall 45 Broad Street As More Machinery Appears On site

YIMBY last reported on 45 Broad Street when workers arrived and barrier installation began back in September. Now, we have a few fresh renderings for the tower, which also depict what the inside of the open-air mechanical floors will look like. The supertall borrows the technique from 432 Park Avenue, and combined with the intricate bronze exterior, the resulting tower could be one of the most attractive additions to the Lower Manhattan skyline in several decades.

Demolition Permits Filed to Make Way for ODA-Designed Tower at 75 Nassau Street, Financial District

The last time YIMBY reported on plans for 75-83 Nassau Street was back in June of 2015, when we featured a fresh set of renderings for the 40-story tower, which is being designed by ODA New York. Building applications were filed a few months before that, in March of 2015, but the site’s old structural occupants remain extant. Now, as of last week, demolition permits have finally been issued, indicating developer Lexin Capital is about to begin work.

Work Resumes at 161 Maiden Lane, aka One Seaport, Financial District

Construction in New York City can be a dangerous occupation, and unfortunately, Juan Chinchillo lost his life on September 21st, when he fell from 161 Maiden Lane, aka 1 Seaport. While the project has been on hold for two months while the Department of Buildings investigated, they have now partially lifted the stop-work orders imposed after the accident, and work appears to be resuming on the tower.
