BAM To Link Three Properties At 651 Fulton Street With Single-Story Base, Fort Greene

The Brooklyn Academy of Music is planning to connect three Fort Greene properties with a unified single-story base, according to The New York Times.The buildings include the three-story BAM Harvey Theater at 651 Fulton Street, a vacant lot at No. 653, and the ground floor of the condominium building at 230 Ashland Place. The $25 million project will link BAM’s spaces, while creating visual art galleries and amenities, including a cafe. Construction will begin soon, and completion is scheduled for September 2017, with Mitchell Giurgola Architects designing.


286 Ashland Place

32-Story, 384-Unit Mixed-Use Building Rising At 286 Ashland Place, Fort Greene

In the spring of 2014, YIMBY reported that excavation was underway at 286 Ashland Place in Fort Greene, where a 32-story, 384-unit mixed-use building is planned. Over a year later, the building is now two stories above street level and rising, according to Brownstoner. The building will have 77 units set aside as lottery-allocated housing, and will feature 21,000 and 45,000 square feet of retail and culture space, respectively. Two Trees Management is developing, while TEN Arquitectos is designing. Ismael Leyva is the architect of record, and completion is slated for the second half of 2016.



110 St Edwards Street

All-Affordable Residential Building Being Planned At 110 St Edwards Street, Fort Greene

The NYC Housing Authority is planning to build an all-affordable building at the vacant 11,500 square-foot plot of land on the northwest corner of Myrtle Avenue and St Edwards Street, in Fort Greene, on the grounds of the Ingersoll Houses complex. According to DNAinfo, a community facility is planned on the ground floor. The building’s specifications will be determined once the City selects a developer by the end of 2015.


130 St. Felix Street

Gotham Organization Acquires Development Site At 130 St. Felix Street, Fort Greene

Gotham Organization has acquired the vacant lot at 130 St. Felix Street, on the block immediately north of Atlantic Terminal in Fort Greene for $5.5 million. According to Brownstoner, the vacant property can accommodate a building of 75,114 square feet, and soil tests were done recently, which usually determines the type of foundation a new building will need. Details have not yet been released, and a new building would require approval from City Planning.
