Three Hudson Boulevard Remains Stalled in Hudson Yards, Manhattan

Continuing our Turkey Week rundown of on-hold projects in New York City is Three Hudson Boulevard, a planned 56-story office skyscraper in the Hudson Yards district. Designed by FXCollaborative and developed by Boston Properties and The Moinian Group, the $3 billion project was planned to rise 940 feet tall and yield 1.86 million square feet of office space, but has been stalled since early 2020. The property occupies a full city block bound by West 35th Street to the north, West 34th Street to the south, Bella Abzug Park to the east, and Eleventh Avenue to the west.

Renderings Revealed For 125 West 57th Street on Billionaires’ Row in Midtown, Manhattan

New renderings have been revealed for 125 West 57th Street, a 26-story commercial building rising along Billionaires’ Row in Midtown, Manhattan. Designed by FXCollaborative and developed by Alchemy-ABR Investment Partners and Cain International, the 440-foot-tall structure will span 260,000 square feet and yield 185,000 square feet of Class A office space, 7,000 square feet of retail space, and an updated home for the Calvary Baptist Church, which has operated on the site since 1883 and sold the land to the developers in 2017 for $150 million. Leading Builders Group is the general contractor for the property, which is located on an interior lot between Sixth and Seventh Avenues between Christian de Portzamparc‘s One57 and SHoP Architects111 West 57th Street.

Façade Installation Progresses on 420 Carroll Street in Gowanus, Brooklyn

Façade installation is progressing on 420 Carroll Street, a two-tower residential complex in Gowanus, Brooklyn. Designed by FXCollaborative and developed by Domain Companies, the project consists of a 20-story, 224-foot-tall tower and a shorter 15-story sibling and will yield 360 units with 25 percent reserved for affordable housing, as well as 27,500 square feet of retail space, 7,700 square feet of “Gowanus Mix” space pursuant to the 82-block district rezoning, and a new public promenade along the Gowanus Canal. Studio Mainer is the interior designer, Scape is the landscape architect, and Mega Contracting Group is the general contractor for the development, which strands on a trapezoidal plot bound by Carroll Street to the north, the Powerhouse Arts building and its parking lot to the south, and the Gowanus Canal to the west.

3ELEVEN Completes Construction at 601 West 29th Street in West Chelsea, Manhattan 

Construction is complete on 3ELEVEN, a 60-story residential skyscraper at 601 West 29th Street along the border of West Chelsea and Hudson Yards. Designed by FXCollaborative and developed by Douglaston Development, the 695-foot-tall structure is also known as Tower A alongside the shorter 606 West 30th Street and yields 935 rental units, with 235 designated for affordable housing, as well as 15,000 square feet of retail space on the podium floors. ES Windows supplied the glass curtain wall and Levine Builders served as the general contractor for the property, which is alternately addressed as 311 Eleventh Avenue and bound by West 30th Street to the north, West 29th Street to the south, and Eleventh Avenue to the east.
