3 Hudson Boulevard Gets New Renderings, May or May Not Have Spire, Hudson Yards

A few weeks ago, YIMBY featured a fresh rendering for the Moinian Group’s 3 Hudson Boulevard, which is set to rise on the northeast corner of 34th Street and 11th Avenue. Now, new images of the supertall have been released, and while they paint a clearer picture of what the tower itself will look like, clues left by Photoshop indicate that there still may be a surprise at the very top of the FXFOWLE-designed structure.

3 Hudson Boulevard May Become Hudson Yards’ Tallest Tower

Hudson Yards has been making headlines in recent months thanks to the substantial progress of Related’s development over and surrounding the Eastern Railyards, which is now yielding a forest of skyscrapers. But immediately to the northwest, another tower that’s been in the making for an equally long period of time may have just received a boost to become the tallest of them all. A new rendering of the Moinian Group’s 3 Hudson Boulevard has surfaced, showing both an updated design for the building itself, as well as the addition of a 300-foot spire, that would make the supertall the tallest in the neighborhood.

Excavation work is imminent at 269 West 87th Street, on the Upper West Side, where a 17-story, 39-unit residential building called The Chamberlain is under development. Photos reveal two excavators and a pile driver, among other materials, currently staged at the property. The latest building permits indicate the project will encompass 115,884 square feet and rise 215 feet to the top of its mechanical bulkhead.
