Developer Acquires 93-01 Sutphin Boulevard, Plans 580-Unit Mixed-Use Development, Jamaica

BRP Companies has acquired the development assemblage at 93-01 Sutphin Boulevard, immediately north of Jamaica Center in Downtown Jamaica, for $19.5 million. The developer plans to build a mixed-use, two-building project measuring a total 755,000 square feet. Retail space will measure 100,000 square feet across a three-story podium, and 580 residential units are expected between 26- and 14-story buildings. Construction is slated to begin later this year, although a slew of low-rise commercial buildings must first be demolished. FXFOWLE is designing.

The amalgam of renovated St Vincent’s hospital buildings and handsome new brick that make up Greenwich Lane are slowly moving toward completion between West 11th Street, West 12th Street and Seventh Avenue. Construction Begins On 35-Story Mixed-Use Building At 44-26 Purves Street, Long Island City

Foundation work and piling is underway at 44-26 – 44-28 Purves Street, in Long Island City, where Brause Realty and the Gotham Organization are planning a 35-story, 270-unit mixed-use building. YIMBY revealed renderings in April of the FXFOWLE-designed project, and a 2,600 square-foot retail portion is expected on the ground floor. According to The Court Square Blog, the building is scheduled for completion in October 2017.

Fortis Planning 820-Unit, Multi-Tower Redevelopment of LICH Complex, Cobble Hill

Fortis Property Group, the owner of the Long Island College Hospital complex at 339 Hicks Street, in Cobble Hill, has proposed redeveloping the properties into 820 residential units, retail, and a medical treatment center, per Curbed. The 1 million square-foot-plus project includes 16-, 20-, 30- and 40-story towers, as well as seven new townhouses, and would require ULURP approval. A large amount of park space is also included, and FXFOWLE is designing.
