Ravi Patel, doing business as a Long Island-based LLC, has filed applications for a six-story, 14-unit residential building at 9-24 Main Avenue, in western Astoria, located two blocks in from the East River. The project will measure 11,990 square feet in total, which means units will average 856 square feet apiece. The residences will begin on the second floor and an indoor recreational facility will be located on the ground level. Flushing-based V&M Property Holdings has filed applications for a four-story, seven-unit residential building at 168-05 Depot Road, in Broadway-Flushing. That’s between Murray Hill and Auburndale, located four blocks from the neighborhood’s Long Island Rail Road station. The project will measure 5,916 square feet, which works out to units averaging 845 square feet apiece. Queens-based Gerald Caliendo is the architect of record. An existing two-story brick building must first be demolished.

Three-Story, Three-Unit Residential Project Coming To 21-11 74th Street, East Elmhurst

Late last year, YIMBY reported on permits for a small three-story, two-unit residential project at 21-11 74th Street, located on the western end of East Elmhurst. Now, permits have recently been amended to build a structure with three units. The building will measure 3,315 square feet in total, and full-floor units will average 1,105 square feet apiece, indicative of condominiums. Konstantine Drakopoulos is the property owner and Queens-based Gerald Caliendo is the architect of record. The site’s former 1.5-story home was demolished last year.


19 Malta Street

Four-Story, Six-Unit Residential Building Planned At 19 Malta Street, East New York

Aviram Chen, doing business as an anonymous LLC, has filed applications for a four-story, six-unit residential building at 19 Malta Street, in East New York’s western neighborhood of New Lots. Located five blocks from the L train’s stop at New Lots Avenue, the structure will measure 4,222 square feet, which means units will average a rental-sized 704 square feet apiece. An existing garage structure will have to be demolished, but the lot is otherwise empty. Queens-based Gerald Caliendo is the architect of record.
