Façade Installation Progresses on One Willoughby Square in Downtown Brooklyn

Exterior work is continuing to progress on One Willoughby Square, a 36-story, 495-foot-tall office skyscraper in Downtown Brooklyn. Alternately addressed as 420 Albee Square, the project is designed by FXCollaborative and is being developed by JEMB Realty, and will yield 500,000 square feet of Class A office space. One Willoughby Square is set to open as the tallest new office building in Brooklyn and is bound by Albee Square West to the east, Willoughby Street to the north, and Duffield Street to the west. Gilbane Building Company is in charge of construction on the project.

Alternately addressed as 420 Albee Square, the façade paneling has reached the parapet of the 34-story office skyscraper, which is designed by FXCollaborative and developed by JEMB Realty. Work has been moving along quickly on the glass and brick curtain wall of One Willoughby Square, aka 420 Albee Square, a 495-foot-tall office skyscraper in Downtown Brooklyn. Designed by FXCollaborative and developed by JEMB Realty, the 34-story reinforced concrete structure topped out last October and has since been rapidly enclosed in its blue-colored envelope. One Willoughby Square’s Glass Curtain Installation Begins in Downtown Brooklyn

Installation of the curtain wall has begun at One Willoughby Square, aka 420 Albee Square, in Downtown Brooklyn. The first row of industrial-style glass panels is now in place on the second floor of the 34-story, 495-foot-tall reinforced concrete skyscraper, joining the other windows already installed on the eastern and northern elevations. Designed by FXCollaborative and developed by JEMB Realty, the topped-out project currently holds the title of the tallest new office building in Brooklyn, and will yield 500,000 square feet of Class A office space. Permits Filed for Phase One of Spofford Redevelopment Project “The Peninsula,” Hunts Point, The Bronx

This March, YIMBY covered the approval of the Spofford Juvenile Detention Center by the NYC Council Committee on Land Use. Now, permits have been filed for a fourteen-story mixed-use building at 720 Tiffany Street in Hunts Point, The Bronx. The new development, named ‘The Peninsula,’ will be six blocks from the Longwood Avenue subway station, serviced by the 6 trains. Six blocks further is the Prospect Avenue subway station, serviced by the 2 and 5 trains. The NYC Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) is leading the transformation.
