Renderings Revealed for Green-Wood Cemetery’s Education and Welcome Center at 749 Fifth Avenue in Park Slope, Brooklyn

The historic Green-Wood Cemetery in Brooklyn will soon be home to a new Education and Welcome center at 749 Fifth Avenue, where construction has already broken ground. Located in Park Slope along the cemetery’s western boundary, the 22,000-square-foot center will feature a permanent collection of photographs and artifacts, flexible learning spaces, Green-Wood’s new Center for Research, staff offices, and event space for local community organizations.

New York State Awards $7.6 Million for Animal Shelter Renovation and Expansion Projects

New York Governor Kathy Hochul recently announced a $7.6 million fund that will help animal shelters and humane societies across the state complete renovation, expansion, and construction projects. Known as the New York State Companion Animal Capital Fund, the funding will support 21 shelters and societies, including two in New York City and four in Long Island.

Governor Hochul Announces Construction of 698-Unit Development at 405-407 West 206th Street in Inwood, Manhattan

This week Governor Kathy Hochul announced the start of construction on a $416 million residential development in Inwood, Manhattan. The two-building, mixed-income project at 405 and 407 West 206th Street will bring nearly 700 apartments with 281 affordable units with free broadband internet, all-electric heating and cooling, and other sustainable features in line with the state’s climate goals. The development is a joint venture among LMXD affiliate of L+M Development Partners, MSquared, and Taconic Partners with the Community League of the Heights as the community sponsor, and Beyer Blinder Belle Architects responsible for design.
