35 Commercial Street Climbs Above Street Level in Greenpoint, Brooklyn

Construction is rising above street level on 35 Commercial Street, a 22-story residential tower in Greenpoint, Brooklyn‘s Greenpoint Landing mega-complex. Designed by Handel Architects and developed by Park Tower Group along with Greenpoint Landing Associates, New York City’s Housing Preservation & Development (HPD), and the Housing Development Corporation (HDC), the 344,463-square-foot structure will yield 373 affordable housing units. Construction began last year after the acquisition of $170 million in construction financing. Monadnock Construction is the general contractor for the property, which is located between the intersection of Bell Slip to the west and Commercial and Clay Streets to the south.

Permits have been filed for a nine-story mixed-use building at 237 McGuinness Boulevard in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. According to developer Wayne Moy, condominium sales will soon exceed 90 percent at 81 McGuinness Boulevard, a six-story residential building in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. The property was designed by Angelo Ng & Anthony Ng Architects and completed in 2020. Today, only one unit remains unsold, a two-bedroom, two-bathroom home priced at $1.59 million.

Richard Bienenfeld Architects has revealed a collection of new renderings for 840 Lorimer Street, a ten-story development in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, now under review by the Department of City Planning. From local developer Shabsi Parnes, the proposed building would comprise a lower-level retail component, office space, 74 rental apartments, and a parking garage designed to accommodate 30 vehicles.
