GID Development Group has officially launched apartment leasing within Waterline Square, a five-acre development that includes a trio of distinct high-rise buildings and lush landscaping throughout. The $2.3 billion development is perched along the Hudson River on the Upper West Side of Manhattan and was designed by a world class team of architects including Rafael Viñoly, Kohn Pedersen Fox, and Richard Meier.
In the lead-up to 2019, YIMBY will be checking in on each of the Five Borough’s 30 tallest towers currently under construction. Standing at the bottom of the list is One Seaport, aka 161 Maiden Lane, which is a notable presence on the Lower Manhattan skyline when seen from the Brooklyn Bridge, or any view facing west towards the Seaport District. The slender new 60-story and 670-foot-tall residential skyscraper recently topped-out, and curtain wall installation is making substantial headway. Spanning 200,000 square feet, the project is being designed by Hill West Architects, developed by Fortis Property Group, LLC and constructed by Pizzarotti LLC. The interiors are being designed by Groves & Co. Sales and marketing are being carried out by Douglas Elliman Development Marketing.
Façade installation is coming to an end for Waterline Square, a five-acre project overlooking the Hudson River. Progress on the structure can be seen thanks to photos posted to the YIMBY Forums. The latest building permits indicate the 670-foot-tall tower, dubbed 1 Seaport, will encompass 192,473 square feet.
Foundation work is underway on the 57-story, 80-unit residential tower under construction at 161 Maiden Lane, located on the corner of South Street, in the Financial District. Dubbed 1 Seaport, it will measure 192,473 square feet and stand 670 feet over the East River, according to the latest building permits. The residential units will be condominiums, ranging from one- to four-bedrooms, and should average 1,726 square feet apiece. Two duplex penthouses will crown the tower. Amenities include private residential storage, storage for 37 bikes, a lounge on the fourth floor, a fitness center, a children’s playroom, and a lounge, pool, and sauna on the 27th floor. YIMBY has been revealing renderings of the evolving project since 2012, with the latest batch released in the spring. Goldstein, Hill & West Architects is the architect, while Groves & Co. is the interior designer. Fortis Property Group is the developer, and construction is expected to be complete in early 2018.
