KRE Group, developers of Jersey City’s Journal Squared towers, have now launched rental leasing for 485 Marin in the city’s historic Hamilton Park District. The development will yield the tallest buildings in Hamilton Park, which is more commonly known for its Victorian homes, brownstones, and tree-lined streets.
A six-story, 163-unit residential building is currently four stories up at 715 Jersey Avenue, in Jersey City’s Hamilton Park neighborhood, on 10th Street. According to The Jersey Journal, the building sits on a 12-foot embankment, where a railway once operated; Conrail abandoned the rail line back in 1995. Completion is expected next summer, and LeFrak is developing the project, dubbed Embankment House. The same developer is also planning an identical residential building a block to the west, between Coles and Mammoth Streets.
Jonathan Kushner’s KRE Group has received a $40 million tax break for their planned 17-story, 397-unit mixed-use building planned at 515 Marin Boulevard, in Jersey City’s Hamilton Park neighborhood. Twenty percent of the tower’s units will be affordable, and commercial space will measure roughly 20,000 square feet on the ground floor. The site is currently a parking lot, and groundbreaking is expected next month for an August 2017 completion, according to The Jersey Journal.
