Handel Architects’ 451 Tenth Avenue Makes Swift Excavation Progress In Hudson Yards

Excavation is getting deeper at 451 Tenth Avenue in Hudson Yards, site of a 580-foot-tall mixed-use skyscraper from Handel Architects. Bryan Cho of Related Companies filed permits in early June 2019 for the 44-story building, which will rise directly to the north of 66 Hudson BoulevardBjarke Ingels‘ supertall known as The Spiral. A great deal of earth has been excavated from the lot, a former parking lot located between West 35th and 36th Streets and Tenth Avenue and Hudson Boulevard. Spitzer Enterprises is co-developing alongside Related.

Work Progresses on Essex Crossing’s 180 and 202 Broome Street on the Lower East Side

YIMBY went to check in on the progress of the nine-building Essex Crossing complex on Manhattan’s Lower East Side, where two structures are getting closer to completion. The exterior of Handel Architects180 Broome Street  is almost finished, while façade work is rapidly progressing on the CetraRuddy-designed 202 Broome Street. Both mixed-use developments join the six-acre master plan that is expected to cost $1 billion and will bring more than 1,000 new homes, 100,000 square feet of green space, over 350,000 square feet of offices, and 300,000 square feet of retail to the booming neighborhood. Triton Construction is the general contractor for the project.

Leasing has launched for the 421 units at Two Blue Slip, aka 41 Blue Slip, a 40-story residential tower on the East River waterfront in GreenpointBrooklyn. Designed by Handel Architects and developed by Park Tower Group and Brookfield Property Partners, the reinforced concrete structure is the tallest completed building in the 22-acre Greenpoint Landing master plan, which is also being developed by L+M Development Partners.
