Demolition has concluded at 620 Twelfth Avenue, the site of a six-story storage and office facility in Hells Kitchen. Owned by Edison Properties and leased to Verizon Communications for $50 million, the structure will span 269,000 square feet and include a cellar level, which may feature on-site parking for the network operator. Nordest Services served as the demolition contractor for the property, which is alternately addressed as 648 West 48th Street and is bound by West 47th and West 48th Streets and the Hudson River Greenway.

New Life Science Facility Announced at 707 Eleventh Avenue in Hell’s Kitchen, Manhattan

The Georgetown Company and Beacon Capital Partners, in collaboration with ZoE Life Sciences, have announced plans for a seven-story life science facility at 707 Eleventh Avenue in Hell’s Kitchen. Designed by Elkus Manfredi, the 185,000-square-foot structure is located between West 50th and 51st Streets. The new development is supported by the New York City Industrial Development Agency and managed by the New York City Economic Development Corporation, and will feature laboratory, research, and office spaces.

Construction resumes on 550 Tenth Avenue, a 47-story residential skyscraper in Hell’s Kitchen, Manhattan. Designed by Handel Architects and developed by Gotham Organization and Goldman Sachs Asset Management JV, the rising 520-foot-tall structure will yield 430,000 square feet and 453 rental units, with 137 reserved for affordable housing, as well as 9,000 square feet of lower-level retail space, over 20,000 square feet of amenities, and 26,764 square feet of administrative office space for Covenant House. GO Covenant LLC is the owner and Monadnock Construction is the general contractor for the property, which is located along Tenth Avenue between West 40th and 41st Streets.
