The Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC) is now reviewing proposals from Howard Hughes Corporation to construct a new pair of high-rise towers at 250 Water Street and a multi-phase expansion of the South Street Seaport Museum in Manhattan’s Financial District. The developer has selected Skidmore, Owings & Merrill as lead architect with supporting design services from JHPA and historic preservation experts Higgins Quasebarth & Partners.

LPC Approves Major Residential Expansion at 315 Broadway in Tribeca

The Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC) has approved the residential redevelopment of a historic mixed-use building at 315 Broadway in Tribeca. The landmarked structure was originally constructed around 1861 and currently contains a small retail component on the ground floor and four loft spaces above.

The Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC) is now reviewing updated proposals to renovate the landmarked Episcopal St. James Church and redevelop the parish’s campus at 2500 Jerome Avenue in the Fordham section of The Bronx. The updates arrive as an attempt to strengthen the dialogue between the religious structure and the proposed residential building.

Work Progresses on Mega Mansion at 145 Perry Street in the West Village

Construction has topped out at 145 Perry Street, a four-story, 30,000-square-foot mega mansion in the West Village. Alternately addressed as 703-711 Washington Street, the project is designed by Leroy Street Studio with Robert Silman Associates Structural Engineers and includes an abutting six-story, five-unit apartment building to the north along Greenwich Street.

The existing landmarked property is located at 315 Broadway, and the new residential building will debut as 317 Broadway.
