MoMA Tower at 53 West 53rd Street Gets New Renderings, Construction Imminent

Bloomberg Business published new renderings of the 82-story, 1,050-foot, and 139-unit ultra-luxury residential tower at 53 West 53rd Street, in Midtown. Dubbed 53W53, the Jean Nouvel-designed supertall’s duplex penthouse is listed for $70 million, and Hines is developing. MoMA is taking multiple floors close to street level, and funding secured, the tower is expected to be finished in November of 2018; YIMBY captured excavation work beginning in March, and vertical construction is imminent.


7 Bryant Park

29-Story Office Building 7 Bryant Park Wraps Up Construction, Midtown

The 29-story, 470,500 square-foot office building dubbed 7 Bryant Park at 1045 6th Avenue, in Midtown, is wrapping up construction, per The Wall Street Journal. Exterior cladding is complete, and interior modeling is underway to accommodate the building’s owner, The Bank of China Ltd., which paid nearly $600 million for the Pei Cobb Freed & Partners-designed building in 2014. Construction began in 2013, and Hines and Pacolet Milliken Enterprises served as the tower’s developers.


100 East 53rd Street

65-Story Condo Tower at 100 East 53rd Street Receives Financing

Per The Real Deal, RFR Realty, partnered with Hines, has received $360 million in financing from the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China for the 65-story, 91-unit condominium building at 100 East 53rd Street, in Midtown East. Vanke Holdings and China Cinda Asset Management have also purchased stakes in the project this past March. Foster + Partners is designing, and YIMBY brought you an update on construction in March.
