Renderings have been released for 2126 Mapes Avenue, a new six-story building located in the Belmont neighborhood of the Bronx. The project is being developed in collaboration with Bronx Pro Group and designed by Curtis + Ginsberg Architects. When complete, the building will contain 30 rentals that range from one- to three-bedroom layouts. An affordable housing development, residences are reserved exclusively for individuals and families between 30 percent and 80 percent area median income.

New York City’s Department of Housing Preservation and Development is listed as the owner behind the applications for the site also known as 4790 Broadway.
In a recent announcement, New York City’s Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) and the Housing Development Corporation (HDC) revealed a multi-phase affordable housing development in Brooklyn. Known as Broadway Triangle, the wedge-shaped plot of land sits at the intersection of Williamsburg, Bushwick, and Bedford-Stuyvesant and will eventually give rise to a five-building housing complex for low-income households and the formerly homeless.

Located between East 12th Street and East 13th Street, the interior lot is one city block south of the 1st Avenue subway station, serviced by the L train. New York City’s Housing Preservation and Development is listed as the owner behind the applications. In December 2018, the site sought status as an Urban Development Action Area Project. Previous tenants had to vacate their residences in 2008 due to deteriorating structural conditions.
