Façade work is making progress on 232 East 54th Street, a 420-foot-tall residential tower in Midtown East. The 40-story structure is designed by Ismael Leyva Architects, and Elk Investors is last reported to be its exclusive developer, though ownership may have fully transferred to Mossanen Group and an LLC known as East 54th St. Properties. The topped-out tower rises between Second and Third Avenues, not far from landmarks like the Lipstick Building and 601 Lexington Avenue, formerly known as the Citigroup Center.

YIMBY has the exclusive reveal for new renderings of Ismael Leyva Architects’ 606 West 30th Street, a 545-foot-tall mixed-use skyscraper on the border of West Chelsea and Hudson Yards. Also referred to as Tower B in a two-building development along with 601 West 29th Street, the project is being developed by Lalezarian Properties and will yield 312,350 square feet. Of that, 192,780 square feet will be designated to residential space and 14,240 square feet for commercial use. 150 East 78th Street is now ten floors above ground and more than halfway to its 205-foot-tall pinnacle. The edifice is designed by Robert A. M. Stern Architects with Ismael Leyva Architects as executive architect and residential layout designer. Developed by Midwood Investment & Development and EJS Group, the 17-story residential building is located at the corner of East 78th Street and Lexington Avenue on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. The property will contain 25 units, which will average 2,600 square feet apiece.

Among the tallest new construction projects in Lower Manhattan is 45 Park Place, a 667-foot-tall residential building in Tribeca. Designed by SOMA Architects with Ismael Leyva Architects as the executive and residential architect, progress was swift on the reinforced concrete structure throughout much of 2019, but work halted toward the end of the year and has yet to resume. The 43-story building is being developed by Sharif el-Gamal of Soho Properties with Piero Lissoni as the interior designer.
