232 East 54th Street has topped-out, and now stands 24 stories above a 5,000 square foot plot of land in the Midtown East neighborhood of Sutton Place, between Second and Third Avenues. Ismael Leyva Architects is the designer while Elias Kalimian of Elk Investors is the developer of the project. The 237-foot tall mixed-use building covers 59,381 square feet, and will have 75 units within averaging close to 800 square feet apiece.

Thirteen blocks away is the Main Street Subway Station, end of the line in Queens for 7 trains, an anchor point for the commercial area. New Details For 62-Story Multi-Tower Block 675 Redevelopment, Hudson Yards

The site sits on the corner of 30th Street and 11th Avenue, and there, Douglaston Development and Lalezarian Properties want to use air rights transferred from Chelsea Piers via the Special Hudson River Park District to build over 1,200 apartments. Now, we have some fresh renderings, a clearer look at Tower B, and the latest figures for the still-growing proposal, which consists of two towers being designed by FXFOWLE and Ismael Leyva Architects.

Permits Filed for 15-Story Condo Project at 148 East 78th Street, Upper East Side

The Upper East Side is about to see another new condominium development with super-sized units, this time at 148 East 78th Street, which will yield a 15-story building rising 205 feet to its rooftop. The generously-sized ceilings will be matched by the floorplans for the 26 condos, which will average 2,600 square feet apiece, with 68,293 square feet of residential space in total. There will also be 3,739 square feet of retail space on the ground floor. Ismael Leyva Architects is listed as the architect of record, and John Usdan of Midwood Management Corp. is the developer. Demolition permits for two existing buildings were filed earlier this month.
