New Details For 62-Story Multi-Tower Block 675 Redevelopment, Hudson Yards

Back in June, YIMBY reported on progress for the Block 675 Redevelopment, just to the southwest of Related’s Hudson Yards supertalls. The site sits on the corner of 30th Street and 11th Avenue, and there, Douglaston Development and Lalezarian Properties want to use air rights transferred from Chelsea Piers via the Special Hudson River Park District to build over 1,200 apartments. Permits Filed for 15-Story Condo Project at 148 East 78th Street, Upper East Side

The Upper East Side is about to see another new condominium development with super-sized units, this time at 148 East 78th Street, which will yield a 15-story building rising 205 feet to its rooftop. The generously-sized ceilings will be matched by the floorplans for the 26 condos, which will average 2,600 square feet apiece, with 68,293 square feet of residential space in total. There will also be 3,739 square feet of retail space on the ground floor. Ismael Leyva Architects is listed as the architect of record, and John Usdan of Midwood Management Corp. is the developer. Demolition permits for two existing buildings were filed earlier this month.

Hudson Yards is making major progress, with Related’s core redevelopment over the Eastern Yards now racing towards completion. While progress on the Western Yards is still a few years away, another large site on the southern side of West 30th Street is set for an impressive transformation from under-used retail and industrial buildings into a two-towered residential and commercial project that will top-out 700 feet above street level.
