606 West 30th Street Resumes Construction in Hudson Yards, Manhattan

YIMBY is kicking off its annual countdown of the 31 tallest buildings being built in New York City, starting with 606 West 30th Street, a 545-foot-tall residential skyscraper in Hudson Yards that recently resumed construction after a period of inactivity. Designed by Ismael Leyva Architects and developed by Lalezarian Properties, the 42-story mixed-use skyscraper will yield a total 312,350 square feet, of which 192,780 will be dedicated to residential space and 14,240 for commercial use. The Midtown, Manhattan property is located between Eleventh Avenue and West Street, near the border with West Chelsea. 606 West 30th Street is also known as Tower B in a two-tower development along with the adjacent 601 West 29th Street, an already topped-out 695-foot-tall skyscraper by FXCollaborative for Douglaston Development.

Excavation is progressing at 15 Beekman Street, the site of a 27-story academic center and dormitory for Pace University in the Financial District. Designed by Manish Chadha of Ismael Leyva Architects and developed by SL Green Realty, the 338-foot-tall structure will yield 213,084 square feet with classrooms, dorms, a dining facility, a library, and a learning center. The building will be built with a cellar, sub-cellar, and a 20-foot-long rear yard. New Line Structures & Development LLC is the general contractor for the Lower Manhattan project, which is alternatively addressed as 126-132 Nassau Street and located at the corner of Beekman and Nassau Streets.

150 East 78th Street’s Brick and Limestone Exterior Wraps Up on Manhattan’s Upper East Side

Exterior work is getting closer to completion on 150 East 78th Street, a 16-story residential building on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Designed by Robert A. M. Stern Architects and developed by Midwood Investment & Development and EJS Group, the 205-foot-tall structure will yield 25 units in three- to five-bedroom layouts spread across 68,293 square feet as well as 3,739 square feet of ground-floor retail. Ismael Leyva Architects is the executive architect and residential layout designer for the project, which is located at the corner of East 78th Street and Lexington Avenue. Sales are underway and are being handled by Compass Development Marketing Group.
