Two Three-Story, Two-Family Townhouses Coming To 104-42 & 104-50 164th Street, Jamaica

Jamaica-based City Builders Development Corp. has filed applications for two three-story, two-unit residential buildings at 104-42 164th Street and 104-50 164th Street, located just south of downtown Jamaica. The townhouses will measure 3,600 square feet each and, across both structures, the residential units should average a family-sized 1,350 square feet apiece. Olabanji B. Awosika’s Jamaica-based architecture firm is the architect of record. Both 20-foot-wide, 2,000-square-foot lots, which are separated by three other lots, are currently vacant. The Jamaica Center-Parsons/Archer stop on the E and J trains is six blocks away.

Revealed: Eight-Story, 58-Key Hotel Planned At 97-01 Waltham Street, Jamaica

A rendering has been spotted on the construction fence of the development site at 97-01 Waltham Street, in downtown Jamaica. An eight-story, 58-key hotel project is planned, per the latest building permits. The new building will measure 31,346 square feet and rise 85 feet above street level to its roof. Guest amenities include a fitness center, a business center, two off-street parking spaces, and storage for five bikes. There will also be a 2,379-square-foot “social club” on the ground floor. Nehalkumar Gandhi’s North Bergen, N.J.-based LLC is the developer and Gerald J. Caliendo’s Briarwood-based firm is the architect of record. Completion is currently scheduled for 2017.

14-Story, 89-Unit Mixed-Use Project Tops Out At 92-61 165th Street, Jamaica

Construction has quietly topped out on the 14-story, 89-unit mixed-use affordable housing building under development at 92-61 165th Street, located on the corner of Archer Avenue in downtown Jamaica. A rendering of the project has also been spotted on the construction fence. The latest building permits indicate the structure measures 93,041 square feet and rises 132 feet above street level to its roof.


148-18 Archer Avenue

Revealed: 15-Story, 338-Key Dual-Brand Hotel Under Construction At 148-18 Archer Avenue, Jamaica

A 15-story, 338-key hotel is quietly rising above street level at 148-18 Archer Avenue, in downtown Jamaica, and a rendering of the project has been spotted on the construction fence. The latest building permits indicate the project will eventually encompass 202,314 square feet and rise 170 feet above street level to its roof. It will be home to a 224-key Courtyard Inn on the second through 10th floors and a 114-key Fairfield Inn and Suites on the 11th through 15th floors. Guest amenities will be located on the ground and cellar levels. An anonymous Flushing-based LLC is the developer and Raymond Chan’s Flushing-based firm is behind the architecture. Completion is slated for early 2019.

First Look At Eight-Story, 128-Key Hotel Planned At 149-03 Archer Avenue, Jamaica

A schematic depiction of the hotel planned at 149-03 Archer Avenue, located on the corner of 149th Street in downtown Jamaica, has been posted on the construction fence. Since YIMBY initially reported on applications for the project, it has been scaled down from 18 to eight stories and 283 to 128 rooms. The building permits indicate it will encompass 139,192 square feet and rise 91 feet above street level, not including the bulkhead.
