Demolition preparations are underway at 538-542 West 29th Street, the site of an art-inspired mixed-use hotel and condominium building in West Chelsea, Manhattan. Designed in collaboration between Jeffrey Cole Architects and AA Studio and developed by hospitality group PPHE Hotel Group and Largo Investments, which acquired the property for $42 million, the 74,000-square-foot structure is planned to yield 98 guest rooms and 55 residences. W29 Owner LLC is listed as the owner and Northeast Specialist Group LLC is the contractor for the project, which is located between Ninth and Tenth Avenues.

Renderings Revealed For 71 North 7th Street, Williamsburg

Coming to the Brooklyn neighborhood of Williamsburg near the corner of North 7th Street and Wythe Avenue, 71 North 7th Street is a new project under development by Largo, with JDS as a minority partner. The building will yield 9,446 square feet of retail space and 9,045 square feet of rentable Class A office space across three floors. Sitting just one block away from the East River, the site was purchased for $10.5 million, and will feature a mix of brown-brick facade with south-facing industrial style windows, as revealed in today’s first look at renderings.

287 East Houston Street Nearing Completion, Lower East Side, Manhattan

Progress is moving along at 287 East Houston Street, with the façade now fully installed, the building topped out, and interior work underway. The 11-story building, named 287/LES, is right on the border of the Lower East Side and the East Village, and just five blocks from the Essex Street subway station, providing quick access to the F, J, M, and Z trains. Vinci Partners and Hogg Holdings are developing the project.

Six-Story, 70-Unit Residential Conversion Continues at 160 Imlay Street, Red Hook

In September of 2014, renderings were revealed of the six-story, 70-unit residential conversion of the warehouse at 160 Imlay Street, in Red Hook. Construction has been underway since 2014 on the 224,809-square-foot structure, and now the Daily Brooklyn Eagle has the latest update on the progress. The 70-foot-tall structure has yet to receive its windows, but it appears installation may be imminent. The condos should average a spacious 2,648 square feet apiece, and will come in one-, two-, and three-bedroom layouts. Roughly 39,500 square feet of commercial space will be located on the ground and second floors, along with amenities like bike storage, private storage space, a fitness center, and a small parking garage. Est4te Four is the developer, AA Studio is the design architect, and Jeffrey Cole Architects is the architect of record. Completion is expected in the spring of 2017.
