MVMK Architects Meets With Community Board Over New Mixed-Use Development at 15 Nardone Place in Jersey City

MVMK Architecture recently unveiled plans to construct a 13-story, mixed-use property in an area of Jersey City known as The Heights. Located at 15 Nardone Place, the proposed structure would rise from an assemblage of six adjacent lots that currently support two low-rise commercial buildings, five multi-story residential structures, a gas station, and associated parking areas. Journal Squared’s Next 72-Story Skyscraper Set to Eclipse 53-Story Sibling, in Jersey City

The second tower of the Journal Squared complex, aka 537 Summit Avenue, is rising rapidly and will soon surpass the adjacent 574-foot-tall, 53-story building, which was the first completed segment of the upcoming trio of residential skyscrapers. The Jersey City property is designed by HWKN/Hollwich Kushner and Handel Architects and developed by Kushner Real Estate Development. The second phase of Journal Squared will rise 759 feet, yield 700 units, 18,000 square feet of retail space, and feature a gross floor space of roughly 1,000,000 square feet.

Foundations for 25 Columbus Drive Reach Street Level in Jersey City

The reinforced concrete foundation walls for 25 Columbus Drive have reached street level in downtown Jersey City. Additional rebar is sticking out and pointing upward, indicating the location of the columns and walls for the ground-up, 626-foot-high mixed-use project. Handel Architects is designing and Mack Cali is developing the proposed 57-story skyscraper, while Fogarty Finger is the interior architect.

533 Mercer Street, aka 289 Jordan, Begins Ascent Over Jersey City

Construction at 533 Mercer Street, aka 289 Jordan, has risen above street level in the McGinley Square neighborhood of Jersey City. Located at the intersection of Mercer Street and Jordan Street, the 16-story mixed-use residential property will contain a total of 300 apartments. These will include 56 affordable housing units, 138 studios, 90 one-bedroom homes, 33 two-bedrooms, and six three-bedroom homes. The project is being designed by Marchetto Higgins Stieve Architects and developed by Mercer Jordan LLC, an affiliate of New York-based company Sequoia Development Group, GRID Real Estate and Dresdner Robin.
