Rendering Revealed for 35-Story 368 Third Avenue as Excavation Commences, in Kips Bay

Excavation work is in full swing at 368 Third Avenue in Kips Bay, the site of a new 35-story mixed-use residential tower, and today YIMBY has a first look at renderings for the project. Located between East 26th Street and East 27th Street, the building is designed by SLCE Architects. Minrav Development purchased the site from Continental Ventures and Itzhaki Acquisitions for $64 million. Plans call for a 388-foot tall, 145,000-square-foot structure yielding 100 apartments, averaging around 1,110 square feet apiece.

157-161 East 28th Street Begins to Gain Prominence, in Kips Bay

Construction on a 19-story residential building at 157-161 East 28th Street in the Manhattan neighborhood of Kips Bay is about to surpass several adjacent low-rise structures. Now clearing the sixth floor, the reinforced concrete structure will eventually be 191 feet tall. C3D Architecture is the project architect while Alex Forkosh of Forkosh Development is the developer of the 43-unit, 66,125-square-foot project. The company purchased the lot back in January 2018 for $43 million, and three low-rise apartment buildings were demolished to clear the way for the new structure.

Permits Filed for 120 Lexington Avenue in Kips Bay, Manhattan

Back in November, YIMBY reported on demolition permits for three adjacent four-story buildings at the corner of 120-124 Lexington Avenue, in Kips Bay, Manhattan. New construction permits have now been filed for a 10-story mixed-use building at 120 Lexington Avenue. The site, between 28th and 29th streets, is located one block east of the 28th Street subway station, serviced by the 6 train. Four blocks away is Madison Square Park. Daniel Dabakaroff of Skyland Management is listed as the owner behind the applications.
