Leasing at The Beach in Jersey City recently surpassed 75 percent just ten weeks after launching this summer. Those stats make the waterfront property LeFrak Organization’s fastest lease-up development to date and reflect a resilient demand for residential properties in the city’s Gold Coast area.
Recent photos from the site of 31 West 57th Street show the property still bereft of construction activity. The perimeter along West 57th Street has been boarded up and plastered with black-and-white geometric art patterns, but not much has happened since the demolition of the original Rizzoli Bookstore and several other old low-rise buildings. 27-33 West 57th Street is among the most sought-after parcels of land along 57th Street, aka Billionaires’ Row, and it could still sprout a fairly tall skyscraper. The lot sits immediately to the west of the Solow Building and is slated to be developed by the LeFrak Organization.
In a surprising and exclusive reveal, YIMBY has the scoop for new renderings offering a first look at LeFrak’s waterfront development at 700 Washington Boulevard, in Jersey City. While the developer has released little information about the project, updated illustrations appear to match preliminary renderings made public in 2017, following approvals from the State of New Jersey.
Situated to the west of the Solow Building on a site that was once the home of the original Rizzoli Bookstore and several other low-slung buildings, 27-33 West 57th Street is one of the most prime sites on Billionare’s Row. The property is in the hands of developer LeFrak, and today YIMBY has the first look at what may eventually rise on the Midtown site in the near future.
Construction has topped out on the 43-story, 376-unit mixed-use tower, dubbed Ellipse, at 1-25 14th Street, located in the Newport section of Jersey City, N.J. The structure, which is now receiving glass installation on its 27th floor, can be seen thanks to photos posted to the YIMBY Forums. The 592,800-square-foot tower’s apartments will be rentals, ranging from studios to three-bedrooms. There will be 24,000 square feet of amenities, as well as a retail component near street level. The LeFrak Organization is the developer. Arquitectonica is the design architect and Haines, Lundberg & Waehler (HLW) is the executive architect. Completion is expected later this year.
