Another 52-Story Tower Set to Rise in Jersey City at 25 Columbus Drive

Jersey City’s boom only seems to be getting more impressive as the year goes on, and now another tower is set to rise on the city’s skyline, at 25 Columbus Drive. The 52-story building will be designed by Handel Architects and developed by L+M Development Partners, and will have 750 rental apartments, a 35,000 square-foot school, four storefronts covering 16,485 square feet of retail space, and a public plaza, according to Jersey Digs. No completion date has been announced yet.




Council Debates Union-Backed Apprenticeship Mandate in Package of Bills Focused on Crane and Worksite Safety

After a crane collapse last February killed a pedestrian in TriBeCa, Mayor Bill de Blasio formed a working group to study the city’s crane regulations. In June, the panel released its recommendations. Today, the City Council took the next step by holding a hearing on a large package of proposed crane and work site safety legislation, including bills unrelated to crane safety that tighten training and worksite requirements.

25-Story, 195-Unit Mixed-Use Building Rises Above Street Level at 115 Delancey Street, Essex Crossing, Lower East Side

Steel beams and the concrete core are now a couple stories above street level on the 25-story, 195-unit mixed-use project under development at 115 Delancey Street, located between Essex and Norfolk streets on the Lower East Side. Progress can be seen thanks to photos posted to the YIMBY Forums. The latest building permits indicate the new building will encompass 489,688 square feet and rise 315 feet to the top of its parapet.
