The Court Square Blog recently noticed the Rabsky Group’s 25-story, 284-unit residential building is nearing the completion of its façade installation at 44-41 Purves Street, in Long Island City. The structure is expected to wrap construction later this year and should be ready for occupancy by 2016.
The vacant 10-story clock tower at 29-27 Queens Plaza North, in Long Island City, will likely be landmarked in the coming weeks, according to DNAinfo. The property owners, Hakin Organization and Property Markets Group, plan to renovate the building to accommodate office space, and possibly retail. The owners are also planning the development of a 77-story, 930-unit mixed-use building at the adjacent lot 29-37 41st Street.
The Court Square Blog notes that Jeffrey Gershon’s 11-story, 182-rental-unit mixed-use building has topped out at 22-22 Jackson Avenue, in Long Island City, and the façade is now five stories up. In YIMBY’s last update in November, the building was only five stories, and completion is expected in 2016.
The Criterion Group plans to purchase the two-story property assemblage at 31-08 Northern Boulevard, in northern Long Island City, for $40 million, per The Real Deal. The development site boasts 253,000 square feet of building potential, but no plans for development have been proposed. The property last traded for $3.6 million in 2004, and the latest transaction should close this month.
The Court Square Blog notes that excavation has recently begun at 28-02 – 28-06 42nd Road, in Long Island City, where Hiwin USA LLC is developing somewhat mysterious tower apparently slated for Fall 2017. Per signage, the renderings shown a large mixed-use building, and Joseph Sultana is designing.
