Six-Story Mixed-Use Building Filed At 355 Grand Street, Lower East Side

Interboro Realty Management has filed applications for a six-story, two-unit mixed-use building at 355 Grand Street on the Lower East Side. The building will measure 6,535 square feet, and will feature retail space on the ground floor and offices on the second. Two units will spread across the remaining 4,580 square feet beginning on the third floor. Shiming Tam is the architect of record, and an existing three-story townhouse must first be demolished.


242 Broome Street

Excavation Begins On 14-Story, 50-Unit Mixed-Use Building At 242 Broome Street, Lower East Side

Earlier this year, YIMBY revealed renderings for the first phase of Essex Crossing, a multi-site mixed-use project on the Lower East Side being developed by L+M Development, Taconic Investment and BFC Partners. Bowery Boogie now reports excavation has begun on the first building, located at 242 Broome Street, where a SHoP-designed 14-story, 55-unit mixed-use building is planned. Splitsville Lanes will occupy the basement, and other retail space is also expected on the ground floor.


179 Suffolk Street

10-Story Mixed-Use Building Nears Completion at 179 Suffolk Street, Lower East Side

In October 2014, a 10-story, eight-unit mixed-use building was rising at 179 Suffolk Street, at East Houston Street on the Lower East Side. Bowery Boogie reports the nearly 14,500 square-foot structure topped out last Spring, and now façade installation is nearly complete. The first two levels will be occupied by a religious facility, and opening is likely within the coming months. Defonseca Architects is the architect of record.


100 Norfolk Street

Steel-Beam Construction Underway At 100 Norfolk Street, 12-Story Condo Project, Lower East Side

Steel beams have been erected up to the second floor of Adam America’s and Horizon Group’s 12-story, 38-condo-unit mixed-use building at 100 Norfolk Street, on the Lower East Side. Bowery Boogie reports construction has been crawling along, and the project may not make its scheduled completion for 2016. The building is over 85% sold, according to REW, and 11,250 square feet of retail is planned. ODA Architecture is designing.
