Construction has topped out at Caton Flats, a 14-story residential tower in Flatbush, Brooklyn. The structure is located at 800 Flatbush Avenue and will eventually support a community of 255 affordable housing units and revitalize the long-running Flatbush Caton Market with 16,000 square feet of new space for a Caribbean marketplace and an economic development incubator.
City officials recently gathered in the Fordham Heights section of The Bronx to celebrate the commencement of construction at 2050 Grand Concourse. Designed by Magnusson Architecture and Planning, the 13-story building will contain 96 affordable apartments, comprehensive support facilities for the formerly homeless, and residential amenities.
Construction is around two-thirds of the way to the parapet at 800 Flatbush Avenue, aka Caton Flats, in Flatbush, Brooklyn. Work has moved along rapidly on the 255-unit affordable housing complex since construction began in May of 2019. The mixed-use development will also house the Flatbush-Caton Market, which originally occupied the site and is temporarily operating a few blocks south at 2184 Clarendon Road. The project is designed by Magnusson Architecture and Planning and developed by the Department of Housing Preservation and Development, the Housing Development Corporation, the Caribbean-American Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the BRP Companies.

Located between East 176th Street and Fairmount Place, the lot is near the West Farms Square-East Tremont Avenue subway station, serviced by the 2 and 5 trains.
