YIMBY user Thomas Koloski recently photographed New York City from above, capturing the prodigious swaths of construction transforming the skylines of Lower Manhattan, Midtown, and beyond. Below are a number of major sites that are taking shape, some of which are nearing topping off and set to be completed in 2020.
The Pendry Hotel at 4 Manhattan West is rising fast in Midtown West. The 21-story development will offer 164 guest rooms and a selection of condominiums on the tower’s upper floors. Designed by Skidmore Owings & Merrill and developed by Brookfield Properties, the building features a distinctive wavy façade on the northern and southern elevations, which is now visible in the reinforced concrete structure. The glass curtain wall will be installed later this year.
Construction will soon kick-off at 300 West 30th Street following approvals from the Department of Buildings. Designed by Studio C Architects, a new collection of renderings offer a first look at the property.
Construction has kicked-off on Pendry Hotels’ premier New York City location, at 4 Manhattan West. The 21-story hotel is officially named Pendry Manhattan West, and will offer 164 guest rooms and a selection of condominiums positioned on the tower’s upper levels.
Construction of the 67-story One Manhattan West in Midtown has been an unusual spectacle for most New Yorkers. The mushrooming rise of the structure is not a normal sight in Manhattan, but the arrangement has been effective, with steel rising the final fourteen levels in just two months, and now reaching the top floor. Brookfield is responsible for the development.
