As the Moise Safra Cultural Center approaches full completion on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, YIMBY has an exclusive look at renderings of the forthcoming cultural hub’s exterior and interiors. Located at 130 East 82nd Street, the 14-story building will include 73,000 square feet of religious and recreational facilities, event spaces, dining halls, and office suites.
A new design is out for the six-story building coming to 3 East 3rd Street, just around the corner from New York’s historic Bowery, the oldest thoroughfare still in use on Manhattan. The corridor has been subject to a recent revival thanks to steady redevelopment with emphasis on the area’s cultural significance over the past few decades.
Permits have been filed for a 22-story commercial office building at 1241 Broadway in Midtown, Manhattan. The architect of the project will be Skidmore Owings & Merrill, who arguably have had the largest impact on New York City’s built environment compared to any other firm. First formed in 1939, they specialize in high-end office space, like the soon-to-be tower in today’s post.
Permits have been filed for a 20-story mixed-use building at 1230 Madison Avenue, on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. The site is ideally located for culturally engaged residents, as it is on the same block as the Guggenheim Museum, and just six blocks away from the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Six blocks away is the 86th Street subway station, serviced by the 4, 5, and 6 trains. Real Estate Equities Corporation (R.E.E.C.) is behind the applications.
HAP Investment Developers first announced 247-249 East 117th Street in 2017 following a purchase of the build site for an estimated $3.2 million. Today, the project is known as HAP NINE, and YIMBY has a first look at the design’s renderings from Fischer + Makooi Architects.
