The Landmarks Preservation Commission is set to review proposals for the renovation of a 14-story office building at 140 West 57th Street in Midtown. Designed by MdeAs Architects, the scope of work involves alterations to the main façade along West 57th Street, changes to exterior elements at the rear courtyard elevation, renovation of interior spaces, and a partial roof-level expansion.

Rendering Revealed for 1100 Avenue of the Americas’ Glass Recladding, in Midtown

Preparations are underway for the glass recladding of 1100 Avenue of the Americas, a 15-story office building located across from Bryant Park at the corner of West 42nd Street and Sixth Avenue. Brookfield Properties is the current developer of the 386,190-square-foot structure, whose renovations include the replacement of its old reflective glass façade with a lighter, more transparent curtain wall on all sides. MdeAS Architects is the designer of the new envelope and the featured rendering. Once reopened, the structure will yield 357,940 square feet of commercial office space in addition to 11,239 square feet of ground-floor retail area. Aecom Tishman is the general contractor.

YIMBY has word that Tishman Speyer has finalized lease agreements for all 1.2 million square feet of its recently completed office development known as “The JACX,” in Long Island City. While the property has not officially debuted, the building’s list of tenants includes Macy’s, Inc., New York-Presbyterian, Bloomingdale’s, WeWork, and a primary care practice operated by Weill Cornell Medicine.
