Revealed: Nine-Story, 29-Unit Mixed-Use Building Planned at 41-21 23rd Street, Long Island City

A rendering has been revealed of the nine-story, 29-unit mixed-use building under development at 41-21 23rd Street, in the Court Square section of Long Island City. The image was spotted on-site by The Court Square Blog. The latest building permits indicate the new structure will measure 33,233 square feet and rise 92 feet to its main roof, excluding bulkhead elements. There will be 1,493 square feet of retail space across the ground and cellar levels, followed by 29 apartments across the second through ninth floors. The units should average 799 square feet apiece. Great Neck, N.Y.-based property owner Amir Haghani is the developer and Michael Kang’s Flushing-based firm is the architect. Completion is expected in early 2018.


A Closer Look at Progress On a Six-Story Mixed-Use Project, 27-05 41st Avenue, Northern Long Island City

Earlier this month we released a brief update on Times Development’s 44-unit residential building at 27-05 41st Avenue in Long Island City. Today, we take a closer look at the six-story project that straddles the line between the high-rise Queens Plaza district to the south and the low-rise Dutch Kills neighborhood to the north. Structural steel has risen to the second level, while gray brick cladding already wraps around ground level columns. The project is designed by architect Michael Kang, who is also behind the nearby hotel at 40-47 22nd Street. Yan Po Zhu of Flushing-based River Bridge Tower LLC is listed as the owner. 6,970 square feet of ground level retail will contribute to the budding shopping corridor along the avenue.

Completion is near for the 10-story, 74-room hotel under construction at 40-47 22nd Street, in northern Long Island City. The property will most likely operate under the Howard Johnson brand, which completed another 10-story hotel four blocks northwest at 38-61 12th Street in 2014. The project’s developer is Ratan Realty Three LLC, with Michael Kang serving as the architect.

Six-Story, 44-Unit Mixed-Use Project Rises Above Street Level At 27-05 41st Avenue, Long Island City

Construction is now two stories above ground level on the six-story, 44-unit mixed-use project under development at 27-05 41st Avenue, located on the corner of 27th Street in the Queens Plaza section of Long Island City. The structure can be seen in an update by The Court Square Blog. The latest building permits indicate the building will measure 50,530 square feet and rise 60 feet in height, not including the bulkhead.
