Vornado’s Supertall 350 Park Avenue Gets Tentative 2027 Opening Date

Plans for 350 Park Avenue were revealed last year but we won’t see the supertall complete until 2027 at the earliest. In a 2019 fourth quarter earnings call last week for Vornado Realty Trust, the company confirmed that ongoing leases would conclude by end of 2023, which is the earliest it could begin to take down the current building and build the almost 1,500-foot-tall office skyscraper.

425 Park Avenue’s Fins And Upper Floors Await Cladding in Midtown East

Work is getting closer to completion at 425 Park Avenue, the 16th tallest building under construction in New York City in YIMBY’s annual countdown. The majority of the exterior work is finished on the 47-story, 897-foot-tall Midtown East skyscraper, with the final upper floors and crowning fins awaiting cladding. The commercial building is designed by Norman Foster, head of Foster + Partners, and is being developed by L&L Holding Company LLCAdamson Associates is the architect of record.

YIMBY Scopes Views From One Vanderbilt’s Steel Crown in Midtown East

YIMBY recently went on a hard-hat tour of Kohn Pedersen Fox’s One Vanderbilt. The topped-out 1,401-foot supertall is currently the tallest skyscraper in Midtown East and the third tallest in the city by architectural height, when measured to the tip of the 100-foot-tall spire. SL Green is the developer of the 77-story commercial office property, which is set to have a three-story indoor and outdoor observatory perched 1,020 feet above the busy Midtown streets. The crown will eventually be covered in a glass curtain wall that should most likely be lighter in appearance than the mixed terracotta and glass assembly that covers the rest of the structure.

YIMBY Checks Out the Views From One Vanderbilt’s 1,020-Foot-High Observatory, in Midtown

YIMBY got a sneak peek of the views from One Vanderbilt‘s future three-story, indoor and outdoor observatory, which is situated 1,020 feet above Midtown East. The upcoming 77-story supertall office skyscraper is designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox and developed by SL Green. The tapering steel structure will soon terminate in a staggered, illuminated crown topped with an architectural spire that will push the project’s total height to 1,401 feet.
