Excavation has begun at 244 East 52nd Street, the site of a seven-story condominium building in Midtown East. Designed by Issac & Stern Architects for Minrav Development, the 26,000-square-foot structure will yield 15 units, a cellar level, a 30-foot-long rear yard, and what appears in the rendering to be a roof terrace. Residential amenities have yet to be disclosed for the property, which will rise from a 5,000-square-foot plot between Second and Third Avenues. Permits were filed in January 2019 to demolish the 9,200-square-foot education facility that formerly occupied the site.
Construction is now complete on ABI Chelsea, a ten-story residential building at 455 West 19th Street in Chelsea. The project is located between Ninth and Tenth Avenues and is designed by Lebanon-based Raed Abillama Architects with Paik Architecture as the architect of record. YIMBY previously reported that developer Al Amir Holdings is expecting a projected sellout of $77.5 million, while Douglas Elliman Development Marketing is handling sales and marketing for the residences, which are slated to range from $12.3 to $22.75 million.
Construction is now complete on 315 East 46th Street, the new nine-story home of the Permanent Mission of the United Arab Emirates to the United Nations in Turtle Bay, Midtown East. Designed by Skidmore Owings & Merrill and developed by Fisher Brothers, the 145-foot-tall structure is located between First and Second Avenues, a short walk from the United Nations.
Exterior work is continuing on 76 Eighth Avenue, a ten-story commercial building in Greenwich Village. Designed in collaboration between Gene Kaufman Architect and RAAD Studios and developed by Sang Lee, Noviprop, and Plus Development, the 120-foot-tall structure will yield 30,000 square feet of office space and ground-floor retail at the corner of Eighth Avenue and West 14th Street.
Full demolition permits have been filed for 8, 12, 14, and 16 West 45th Street in Midtown, Manhattan. Located between Fifth and Sixth Avenues, the 9,241-square-foot site has 92 feet of street frontage.
