Condominium tower 695 First Avenue recently unveiled its amenities package and rebranded as One United Nations Park. The 43-story building offers owners of the 148 units sweeping views of the Manhattan skyline and the East River. Solow Building Company is developing the project, with Richard Meier & Partners Architects as the designer.
Construction on the new expansion of the Jacob K. Javits Center is taking shape very quickly. Steel columns, beams, and large diagonal trusses can easily be seen rising above the original building from the street and from across the Hudson River, with multiple yellow construction cranes swinging and lifting the structural components into place.
The facade work is progressing quickly on the upcoming 22-story Hyatt Centric Hotel at 16 East 39th Street, located near Bryant Park in Midtown. The reinforced concrete structure, which topped out back in January, will include 162 short-stay rooms, a restaurant and lounges on the ground floor, an appointed rooftop, and a rear courtyard. The new 244-foot-tall building will yield 77,858 square feet. Gene Kaufman Architect is the designer of the project.
Another major milestone was reached last Friday in conjunction with the celebratory opening of Hudson Yards. 35 Hudson Yards, a 1,000-foot-tall, Skidmore Owings & Merrill-designed supertall, launched sales of its 143 residential units. David Childs is the architect of the glass and Jura limestone skyscraper, which is the tallest residential tower at Hudson Yards. Related Companies and Oxford Properties Group are the two developers for the 1.1-million-square-foot tower. The interiors are being designed by Tony Ingrao while sales are being handled by Related Sales and Corcoran Sunshine Marketing Group.
Construction of a 419-foot-tall hotel at 140 West 28th Street in Chelsea is passing the halfway mark. Workers are currently pouring the 29th floor and getting ready to create the form work for the 30th floor. The tower is designed by Gene Kaufman Architect and is being developed by Eastern Consolidated. The property successfully secured a $121.35 million debt and equity package last year thanks to the Bank of the Ozarks and Square Mile Capital Management. There will be 526 rooms divided among a Marriott, TownePlace Suites, and Springhill Suites. Each will have its own separate lobby on the ground floor and shared common rooms.
