Construction has passed the halfway mark on Bjarke Ingels Group‘s 1,031-foot-tall 66 Hudson Boulevard, aka The Spiral. The $3.7 billion, 66-story Hudson Yards supertall is being developed by Tishman Speyer with Turner Construction Company as the construction manager. Banker Steel is in charge of manufacturing the steel and Permasteelisa is the contractor for the glass enclosure.
Construction is wrapping up on The No. 29 Condominium, a nine-story residential building at 534 West 29th Street along the border of Hudson Yards and Chelsea. Designed by Workshop/APD and developed by LENY, the 17,000-square-foot structure yields six units ranging from full-floor homes to duplexes. The property is located between Tenth and Eleventh Avenues, a short walk from the High Line.
The steel frame of 50 Hudson Yards has passed the halfway mark on the way up to its 1,011-foot-tall parapet. Designed by Norman Foster of Foster + Partners and developed by Oxford Properties and Mitsui Fudosan, the 58-story commercial office supertall will span 2.9 million square feet, making it the largest structure by volume in the first phase of Related Companies‘ Hudson Yards master plan.
Construction has passed the halfway mark at 517 West 29th Street, a ten-story, 135-foot-tall condominium project in Chelsea. Developed by Churchill Real Estate Holdings and designed by Ben Hanson Architect with Rand Engineering and Architecture as the architect of record, the building will yield 56,160 square feet with 60 residential units and nine private outdoor parking spaces.
Foundation work is approaching street level at Ismael Leyva Architects’ 606 West 30th Street, a 545-foot-tall mixed-use skyscraper on the border of West Chelsea and Hudson Yards. Developed by Lalezarian Properties, the tower is expected to yield 312,350 square feet, of which 192,780 will be dedicated to residential space and 14,240 for commercial use. The residential component will feature a mix of condominiums and rentals, but the exact breakdown of the inventory has not yet been made clear.
