A branch of the Miami-based Lennar Corporation is proposing a twin-towered, 858,000 square-foot mixed-use development at 60 South Broadway, in White Plains, and according to Westfair, the plan has been sent to the Common Council after recently clearing the Planning Board. The base podium will contain amenity space and 95,000 square feet of retail, and above, two 24-story towers will have 707 rental units, 71 of which will be let at below-market rates. Perkins Eastman is designing, and construction is scheduled to begin in May 2016.
Property owner Hui Shi has filed applications for a four-story, two-unit mixed-use building at 5122 9th Avenue, near 52nd Street, on the borderlands of Sunset and Borough Park. The building will measure 5,080 square feet, and includes a 1,323 square-foot health care facility on the ground floor. Residential units will average 1,880 square-feet each above, one taking up the second and third floor, and another spanning the fourth and a fifth-floor penthouse. Flushing-based Success Best Design is the applicant of record, and an existing two-story structure must first be demolished.
Moishe Braver, of Hold Bushwick, LLC, has filed applications for a four-story, 21-unit mixed-use building at 408 Evergreen Avenue, in central Bushwick, located five blocks from the J and Z trains’ stop at Gates Avenue. The building will measure a total 18,485 square feet, and includes 2,513 square feet of health care facility on the ground floor. Residential units, averaging 880 square feet apiece, will begin on the second floor, with seven per level through the top floor. Karl Fischer is the architect of record.
iStar’s Jay Sugarman plans to lead a multi-billion dollar redevelopment that includes over 20 individual projects in Asbury Park, New Jersey, located roughly 40 miles south of Manhattan. The construction will be centered around 1.25 miles of Asbury Park ocean waterfront, on Ocean Avenue and Kingsley Street, between Cookman Avenue and Deal Lake Drive.
Bruce Teitelbaum and a group of investors are proposing a mixed-use, multimillion-square-foot development at 44-02 Vernon Boulevard, on the East River, in Long Island City. According to Politico New York, the vacant 212,670 square-foot property will likely be rezoned for a residential tower of more than one million square feet. Teitelbaum is also planning to acquire the six-story office building at 44-36 Vernon Boulevard, currently owned by the city. If successful, the project may also include open space, affordable housing, a public school, and a hotel.
