Foundation Work Underway For 12-Story Rental Building At 181 Front Street, Dumbo

In April, YIMBY noted excavation was underway at 181 Front Street, in Dumbo, where Megalith Capital Management and Urban Realty Partners are building a 12-story, 105-unit rental building, which will also have 1,490 square feet of retail on the ground floor. Now, foundation work is beginning, according to Brownstoner. The project also consists of the conversion at 200 Water Street, where 15 condominiums are planned, and Aufgang Architects is designing, with completion slated for 2016.

City To Request Proposals For All-Affordable Mixed-Use Tower At 493 11th Avenue, Midtown West

The City’s EDC has confirmed the redevelopment of the parking lot at 493 11th Avenue, on West 39th Street in Midtown West, according to DNAinfo. The City will request proposals this summer for a permanently all-affordable housing tower, which will also have retail and community space on the lower levels. The site was previously said to allow for a 45-story, 300-unit building, and was formerly occupied by a six-story slaughterhouse, demolished in the 1980’s.


9701 3rd Avenue

20-Unit Condo Building Being Planned At 9701 3rd Avenue, Bay Ridge

Stephen Oliver, owner of the restaurant at 9701 3rd Avenue, in southern Bay Ridge, has revealed plans to demolish the existing single-story building to make-way for a condominium project. According to Gothamist, the new building will have 20 units, and the restaurant will return to the ground floor when construction is complete. Oliver hasn’t announced who will develop the project, but the restaurant will close for demolition in two or three months. The site is located two blocks south of the R train’s final stop at 95th Street.

Jeffrey Gershon’s 11-story, 182-unit rental building at 22-22 Jackson Avenue, in Long Island City, quickly went up over the past year, having reached its half-way point in December, and then topping out in April. Today, the finishing touches are being applied to the structure’s exterior, and glass installation is nearly complete, according to The Court Square Blog. ODA Architecture is designing, and the ground floor will feature 5,585 square feet of retail space. Completion is expected by the end of this year.
