Property owner Franc Gjini has filed applications for a four-story, 11-unit residential building at 3430 Third Avenue, in Morrisania, located on the block between East 166th and 167th streets. The development will measure just 6,518 square feet in total and its residential units will average 593 square feet apiece, indicative of small rental apartments. The ground floor will host two apartments and the floors above will contain three apartments each. Pelham, N.Y.-based Fred Geremia Architects & Planners is the architect of record. The 25-foot-wide lot has long been vacant.

Yosef Yaakovzadeh, doing business as Green Builder’s NYC LLC, has filed applications for a three-story, two-unit residential building at 887 Cauldwell Avenue, in Morrisania. The new structure will measure 3,170 square feet in total, and the units will take on townhouse configurations, spanning through multiple floors. The developer also filed applications to renovate the existing three-story townhouse at 889 Cauldwell, which is situated on the same zoning lot. That will measure 2,715 square feet and will retain two residential units. Bakhtiar Shamloo’s Kew Gardens-based Tabriz Group Design is the architect of record.

Property owner Yair Bohadana has filed applications for a four-story, eight-unit residential building at 1173 Tinton Avenue, in Morrisania, six blocks north of the Prospect Avenue stop on the 2 and 5 trains. The building will measure 5,324 square feet, which means units will average a rental-sized 665 square feet apiece. Queens-based Gerald Caliendo is the architect of record, and the site’s two-story predecessor was demolished in 2001.

Nonprofit SoBro Development Corporation is moving forward with plans for an eight-story affordable and supportive building at 481 East 164th Street, on the corner of Washington Avenue in Morrisania.
